Parallelogram is always an important part of mathematics and is arranged as the content of grade two of junior school. Based on the results of some questionnaire and interviews of students in Grade eight and Grade nine, which reflect the parallelogram perception of students, this research finds the basic reasons of causing false perception and proposes some teaching improvement measures to solve the problem.According to the survey, most students of the two grades can reach the level and meet the requirements of course standard and grasp the character of parallelogram and judging methods and can apply it to solve problem. By comparison of test results of students in two grades, we find that there is great difference between students of two grades towards the perception of parallelogram. The whole developing trend is: the perception of parallelogram of students in Grade Nine is superior to students in Grade Eight; besides, this research gets the following results:(1) From the perspective of sex, there is no great difference on perception of parallelogram of all the testing students. For students in the same grade, there is no great difference between boys and girls.(2)From students'perception of parallelogram character, judgment and application, the perception level of students in two grades is almost equal, while in applying, students in Grade Nine is much better than students in Grade Eight.i. the perception of parallelogram characterFrom students'perception of the character of parallelogram angle, the level of students in two grades is almost equal, the perception of side o parallelogram f students in Grade Eight is better than students in Grade Nine, as for the perception of diagonal line, students in Grade Nine is better than students in Grade Eight.ii. the perception of judgment parallelogramMost of students in two grades have already grasped the judgment methods of parallelogram. The perception level of judging fro parallelogram m diagonal line is the highest. The perception level of Students in Grade Nine is a little bit higher than students in Grade Eight. As for the reasoning of from parallelogram multi-angle judging, some students couldn't choose the right method to prove, some students draw the conclusion from proving only one pair of opposite sides. Some students draw the conclusion hastily after prove only a pair of opposite angles. iii. the perception of parallelogram character judgment and applicationMost students in two grades could choose the right method to solve application questions of parallelogram judgment and character. The reasoning ability of students in Grade Nine is a little bit higher than students in Grade Eight. From multi-angle solving problem mine of students in Grade Nine is broader than students in Grade Eight and their methods are easier and more reasonable.
