Study On The Division Of Power Between Husbands And Wives In The City's Family At Transition Time

Transition is the Chinese society present overall characteristic,which is also a special process of moving toward modernization for the Chinese society.Under this background,the family function,the structure and the relational system have also occurred and are occurring and changing.The life in the urban family's husbands and wives,their occupation,the income,the life style and the value idea is also having the unprecedented change This kind of change will have the influence on the urban family system,in the family function as well as the family the interpersonal relationship definitely e,moreover these changes in some degree will have the basic nature.This research first in a questionnaire survey research's foundation,has carried on the description and the analysis with the positive research technique to the Chinese city,family husbands' and wives' division of powers condition.The division of powers between the husbands and wives manifest through the degree the husbands and wives own the family business decision-making power and individual business right to independence, respectively.The research discovered that,generally speaking,in the aspect to Chinese city family's family business,common decision-making by both the husbands and wives is the most main form at present;in aspect to individual business right to independence,the husband decision-making's proportion greatly is higher than the wife in the husbands and wives respective independent decision-making's situation.With economical related individual business aspect,no matter the men and women,the surveyor thought they may take responsibility,whose proportion is high,and the difference is not big.The wives,when handling individual business,have the more right to independence than husbands,but when involving "going out to study and hiring out for working,they can take responsibility the proportion to the decision-making by themselves,respectively,is both low.And the difference between men's and women's is more obvious.In this sense,in our city family,husbands' and wives' division of powers was still inclines to the husband, moreover also has dual domain division,namely,"outside in the male host,inside in the female host".The above two targets are objective survey to the family husbands and wives authority,some who make decision finally.In real life,it is not so simple.Western scholars who study marriage authority use "the negotiations","the consultation","the compromise" and so on concepts to indicate or discusses the division of powers between husbands and wives.Therefore,this article has further studied process of the division of powers,proposing four kind of allocation models according to allocation process's characteristic; first,control;second,independent type;third,consultation;fourth,conflict.Certainly,these four kind of patterns are impossible to appear alone,we cannot divide some family into some sole type.If we place the family authority's assignment pattern into the social reforming overall background to get down the inspection,as a result of political,the economical,cultural,the ideology,ethics morals reforming influence,the pattern of the division of powers will present the transition period the characteristic.1.From male hosting to male and female equal hosting.2.The family authority assignment on the basis of sex was still very obvious,and male aad female both have the authority to eliminate the feeling to a certain extent.3.Male power culture seepage to economical and education factor.4.The division of powers process is one complicated and the conflict process.The division of powers is taken according to deep background factors like society,economy,cultural tradition as the basis.The function and the influence that family system and family ethics have on the relation between husbands and wives on is a realistic existence,moreover is a decision factor.Regarding the wife,theory and the practice of the equality of the sexes and social resource acquisition, improved their status,stimulating them to request the authority peace and so on consciousness.But as a result of male power culture's ingraining for several thousand year,male and female are both withstanding the pain and loses in the division of powers.Only then destroying the male power culture thoroughly,male and female can find the solution to eliminate contradiction and the conflict,and can liberate the male and the females from the existing power structure fetter.Not only this needs government's powerful leadership, but also needs the feminist movement in China's vigorous development.
