This paper does a research on error management on study of mathematics for students of NO.1 Middle School Attached to Central China Normal University from grade 10 to grade 12 through questionnaires and interviews. The research is mainly focus on the three followed: first, how is their attitude toward error management; second, what ways were taken to manage their errors; third, foremost of all, the relationship between error management and effective learning.According to our research, the following findings are found:1. Middle school students all treat the error management with a positive attitude: they realize the importance of error management and manage the errors in their ways. But most students only manage their errors by the way of correcting errors in papers directly, without guidance of theory on error management.2. Those who are good at studies treat error management more important in their mind, no matter what the grade they belong to. But in the behavior of error management, those who are good at studies do better than the other in Grade 10, and do worse in Grade 11.3. Both attitude and behavior of error management get advanced, with the increase of their grades. What attention us is the attitude of the grade 11. They do better in all items of our research than the grade 10 and grade 11, but present to be a little negative in attitude toward error management than students who belong to grade 12. The only item they do better is the behavior of error management, by that time.4. Boys do better than girls in error management, totally. For example,boys present to be better than girls at the behavior of error management, but do worse in attitude than girls.5. The last, no matter what grade they are, error management shows positive linear correlation with the result of math's study.According to this research and the result, we give our advice to students and teachers on error management at the end of this dissertation. Also, the next problem for advanced research is imagined and placed at the end.
