| The study of news narratology in China is still at the beginning,and the theory of narratology is not used in the news text to analyze the articles.So is in the sport news.NBA is one of the four dominative sports league matches,which is also maximal sports league match internationally.In the operation in NBA,the medium has acted as indispensable role.Since Yao Ming joined NBA Houston Rockets team,the national media are more focusing on NBA especially on the Rockets team."Titan Sports"is one of the popular newspapers,which firstly had the column of NBA in China.The study on NBA is mostly about the administration and marketing, while little on narrative of newspaper texts.Most study on the language of the newspaper texts lacks of deep analyses.Therefore,this paper applied the study of narratology to analyze the news texts on Houston Rockets team in"Titan Sports".First the writer discussed the feasibility of applying the study of narratology to the sport news texts.Then the writer collected the texts samples during the reports in 2007-2008 season.Then I use of the narratology theory and some other methods,such as the test analysis method,induction and deduction method and the method of document.The paper analyzed the texts through narrative archetype and narrative time, and drawn a conclusion that news texts in"Titan Sports"had special article structure and variety of narrative time,together with hero archetype and the treasure searching motive.
