With the coming of 21st century,in order to adapt to social changes and development,the education sets off a wave of reform at a global scale.Curriculum direction highlights its unique position and it is difficult to replace the role of the curriculum which leads to the successful development and implementation of curriculum and puts forward higher requirements on the curriculum leaders.With the deepening of the reform,all kinds of kindergartens are emerging,the situation of early childhood education has been greatly changed.The number of kindergartens has increased.Child care enrollment has been growing.Education is the cause of the gradual formation of a nursery for public demonstrations,private park,public park common prosperity.This study takes private kindergarten principals as the research subject and the 61 private kindergartens in the 6 districts of Jinan,Shandong Province as instances. Research approaches,such as questionnaires,interviews,literature research methods, are taken to survey on the now status of the private kindergarten principals' curriculum direction.The survey is carried out from three levels:the private kindergarten Leaders' awareness,the construction of curriculum leadership organization,the practice of curriculum leadership.Research results show that,as far as the awareness of principal curriculum leadership,the principal has got some recognition of the meaning of curriculum leadership and the role that they should play in the process of curriculum direction,whereas the outlook of curriculum leadership of the principals has not yet changed.On the aspect of curriculum leadership organization,the principal has some recognition on the construction of the organization,but the participation ability and willingness of the teachers and the community is not sufficient.On the aspect of curriculum leadership practice,the principal has conducted curriculum direction at some degree,whereas the curriculum direction ability is not adequate and due to the fact that they have to take care of too much routine affairs every day,they have little time left for the curriculum.On the basis of status quo analysis,the writer analyzes the factors that affect the principal's curriculum leadership through three levels of principal individual factors,kindergarten inner situation and the outer support and assistance for the kindergarten.Factors analyzed conclude the following:principals' curriculum direction ability,principal leadership style,principal leadership outlook,organization structure configuration of the kindergarten,the original culture tradition of the kindergarten, participation ability and willingness of teachers,policies and management support from the education administration,recognition and participation from parents and community, etc.Suggestions are given for private kindergarten principals to improve the curriculum leadership efficiency,which conclude:to strengthen the self perfection and development of the principal,to improve the self-quality of the private kindergartens,to strengthen the support and assistance for the private kindergarten from outside.
