In new century,inquiry teaching is gradually becoming an active teaching method,which is advocated by people for its unique value and charm.Scientific inquiry is defined as one of science education content standards of primary schools in the new round of curriculum reform.Moreover, scientific inquiry teaching is also considered as the main way to get achievement in new science curriculum reform.Compared with traditional recipient teaching,science education not only give a new position for teaching idea,teacher-student relationship and specific teaching practice,but also provide students with adequate opportunities to explore,help students to experience scientific interests,improve their inquiry ability and scientific attitude to respect the truth.with a view to provide valuable inspiration to other primary school science education reform and development,this thesis takes an ordinary primary school of Chongqing as the example,examine and analyze the causes of success of its implementation of primary science inquiry teaching.This thesis is mainly based on interview materials of Chaoyang primary school science teachers and other materials,for example,classroom teaching record,science teachers' lesson plans,and students' work.This thesis is mainly classified into four parts as following:Part one mainly introduces teaching process at Chaoyang primary school.This part introduces the background of process of inquiry teaching at Chaoyang primary school.Part two describes the characteristics of inquiry teaching from its current status to its implementation.These characteristics are:harmonious,democratic,liberal classroom atmosphere, teachers as a guide and facilitator,and students as a learning center.Part three mainly focuses successful factors on the implementation of Chaoyang primary inquiry teaching.This part mainly analyzes successful factors of Chaoyang primary inquiry teaching from its culture,school leaders,teachers,and school environment.Part four analyzes implemental actuality of inquiry teaching and its influencing factors,and extracted the enlightenment from the implementation of elementary school science teaching: depending on school leaders' supporting and assistance,strengthening the construction of science teacher's team,bringing students' positive learning ability into play,and making full use of external resources.
