Collective teaching is one kind of activities in Chinese kindergarten classrooms. It plays an important role in kindergarten curriculum in China since 1950th. The traditional collective teaching activities in kindergarten classrooms emphasised much more on teachers' activities, textbooks' using and classroom teaching than children's activities participating. Therefore, The curriculum reform which began in 1980th was intend to change this situation.Shanghai Kindergarten curriculum reform was in light of curriculum reform in China. The Theme intergrated curriculum was developed in Shanghai. This study was to explore the impact of this curriculum on collective teaching activities in Shanghai kindergarten classrooms from those perspectives: 1) How did teachers prepare collective teaching activities ; 2) How did they make the goals of the activities and to chose the appropriate resources ; 3) How did they design the activities; 4) How to interact with children in collective teaching activities; 5) How did teachers reflex on their teaching activities after class.It was founded that the traditional collective teaching activities was to wither away and the 'new' teaching activities has not been formed yet, therefore the collective teaching activities was in the throes of reform.We suggested that in terms of curriculum reform, the role of collective teaching activities should be noted clearly first. Second, The curriculum reform should take the special characteristics of every discipline into consideration. Teachers need more training on teaching abilities and skills in curriculum reform.When we come to the improvement of collective teaching activities practice in classroom, we suggested in daily activities, the collective teaching activities should be less and better and, others kinds of teaching activities' function need take into consideration as well. It should be connected with other acticities such as play activities. Next, Teachers should improve their teaching abilities and practice teaching activities systematically. Third, Teachers should be supported from systematic pre-service training and post-service training. The last but not the least, we shoul provide teachers with teaching materials of practicality.
