With the further promotion of the eighth-round curriculum reform, new perceptions, such as interaction, dialogue, generation, are influencing classroom teaching noticeably or potentially. As pursuit of generation has become a goal for Chinese class teaching, most teachers are making effort in exploring teaching methods and behavior modes to realize this perception in practice. Therefore, it is necessary to examine teaching behaviors like raising questions and giving feedback in the context of generation and give new meanings to them.Based on the perspective of class generation, the author conducted research in several secondary schools in Shanghai and found that prompt appraisal could be a critical factor influencing classroom generation. Thus, this study aims to discuss the status and factors related to teaching behavior of giving prompt appraisal for Chinese language teachers and then put forward effective strategies to facilitate class generation by it. Six chapters are listed as bellows:The first chapter gives introduction to background, origin, purpose, outline and significance of this research.In the second chapter, the author defines two important concepts, prompt appraisal and class generation, based on relevant research literature from home and abroad.Then the third chapter analyses the relationship between prompt appraisal and class generation in an attempt to set up theoretical framework for the research.In the following chapter, the author displays the current situation of prompt appraisal in Chinese language class by presenting qualitative description and analysis.The fifth chapter explains reasons leading to characteristics of teaching behavior of giving prompt appraisal mentioned in the previous chapter from aspects of perception, personalities and skills in Chinese language teachers.Finally, in the sixth chapter, the author brings about strategies to promote class generation by means of prompt appraisal from two dimensions, teachers and students respectively. In the meanwhile, high quality remarks for prompt appraisal are extracted from a large number of classroom cases, which could be reference for most Chinese language teachers.
