Parent-child reading refers to an activity of reading proper materials of parents and children together. It has special importance for the development of children's body and mind as early reading method. This research aims at the 447 parents with preschoolers of 2-6 years old in Jilin City with the questionnaire which has parent-child reading rate, parent-child reading environment, parent-child reading works, education value of parents, interactive policies of parent-child reading and the behavior of children to analyze the condition of parent-child reading and the relation. All these are for the reference and advice to promote the language education of children.Results:(1)The parent-child reading rate in Jilin City is much higher with 3 to 4 times per week; the rate is much higher at the age before 4 years old; the rate is much higher of advanced and middle class family than the low income family; the educated level of mother really affected a lot.(2)The parent-child reading time is mostly the evening time and lasted 15-20 minutes; the time of girls is longer than boys and the secondary kindergarten needs more time than the advanced ones.(3)Most parents like to read books with color pictures, fairy tales for children, and then the character pictures and cards. The kindergarten will choose 20-50 reading materials; the education level of parents affects children and especially the level of mothers;(4)Most parents are positive to the parent-child reading but have many misunderstandings. They can not realize the value in a scientific view. The parents can not pay more attention to the gaining of knowledge and treat character as the important condition; the educated level of mother really affected a lot.(5)The picture reading is the prior choice for parents and children and then is character reading; the rate of question is high and the rate of creating is low; the interactive strategy before four years old is higher then later.(6)The attention will be focus on the question and answered well if the educated mother joined in.(7)The parents are lack of knowledge and strategy of parent-child reading. The parent-child reading now is on process and needs more scientific report.
