New Curriculum Standards for mathematical Teaching in senior high school have been carried out in Hunan Province since 2007. At present, an urgent problem to explore is how to improve senior mathematical teaching efficiency and quality by efficient teaching design.Through the theories of New Curriculum Standards Conceptions for mathematical teaching in senior high school, Structuralism and Human All-round Development, adopting methods of Literature Analysis, Questionnaire Search, Case Analysis, Live Observation, by means of New Curriculum Horizon, we probed into the theories and practice for mathematical efficient teaching design in Senior High School covering five aspects. The thesis consists of seven chapters.Firstly, we set forth the background and significance of the research, introduced research methods (Introduction), carried through literature analysis and appraises at home and abroad (Chapter Two). Secondly, we defined the concept of mathematical efficient teaching and design for mathematical teaching in Senior High School and put forward research theories and bases (Chapter Three). In addition, we analyzed characteristics, conditions and effective factors of mathematical efficient teaching in Senior High School (Chapter Four). Thirdly, we carried out questionnaire search and analysis on status quo of mathematical efficient teaching in Senior High School. Fourthly, we probed into principles of mathematical efficient teaching in new curriculum Standards. And we researched into teaching design through aims, contents, time, methods, activities and assessment (Chapter Six). Based on the assessment of the results of the experiment for mathematical efficient teaching in Senior High School, we put forward our suggestions (Chapter Seven).The experimental result and comparison study proved true our hypothesis that efficient teaching with new curriculum horizon improves students' abilities in initiative exploration, independent learning and creativity as well as students' concentration and achievement; therefore, teaching efficiency and quality greatly improve. The precondition of efficient teaching is the change in conceptions of teachers and students. The success in efficient teaching lies in the design of teaching scheme and guiding students to think in a mathematic way, which is not only the base of efficient teaching, but also the key to achieve it. Only by guiding students to observe various specific phenomena in a mathematic way and change them into mathematic problems can we improve teaching quality.
