With the coming of the knowledge economy times, governments around the world and the international organizations are paying more atteion to the development of the education. At the same time , modern education and the education modernization also attract people's field of vision. While how to evaluate whether one state or one area has achieved the education modernization and clarify the degree and the level, which becomes the heated discussions of the academe. On the background of this, and on the basic of the previous researches, I had done much work about the subject more deeply, deeply and comprehensively .Besides of this ,I also create a new area education modernization indicator system.My primary studies are following:At the very beginning, redefine the concepts including the modernization, the area modernization, the education modernization, the area education modernization, the indicators and the indicator system.Next, compare the education indicator system of OECD, UNESCO, World Bank and the USA to the researches of domestic professors and scholars, give the differences and the analysis among them.After then, explain the theoretic foundation and the output frame, use for reference of the CIPP, I manage to set up the new mode, mainly as follows: education context- education input- education process and participation- education outcome.Finally, with the guidance of the instructing thoughts and principle , set up the new area education indicators system. By making questionnaires and interviewing the professors to analyze and modify the indicators, at last confirm the ultimate indicator system.
