Cultivating talents relay on education, while education lies in teachers. The study on teachers in the 21 st century has become the focus which have been paied more and more attention all over the world. As one of the basic elements of education, teachers' identity has gone through the transformantion from traditional education to modern one's. For years, people endow teachers good names such as the "gardener", "silkorm", "candle" and so on, gift them the idealized crown such as "engineers", "pioneers" and "guides". The frequent negative reports in the media had devoured teachers' beautiful and lofty image in our hearts. People located teachers an high orientation that is so abstract and even take them as "saints". The high expectations make teachers behave different during career and life, social and mental pressure striked together, the teachers have been caught in the stress and blame from society and the media. The traditional education which is in represented by Herbats has been under the condition of challenge from the modern ones, teachers' role and status had quietly changed in due to widely questioned for their identity which as the representatives of the society, the knowledge of authority, the moral incarnation, and the educators, etc.This thesis is based on the angle of ethics, from the theoretical research and practical demands in our country, proposes the crisis of teachers' identity and reveals the existing problems and reasons, through the institutionalization identity of the teachers in history and people's conception in real situation , then makes analysis and discussion to the strategy which used to reshape an ethical teacher identity. Hope to provide reference for the issue of identity belongs, and have a comprehensive knowledge of teachers' professional and identity, so as to realize the real meaning of teachers development, to make useful exploration for the successful accomplish the gardener engineering .In order to make the above problems clear, this paper intends to be divided into five parts to be carried out, the specific ideas are as follows:Part one, introduction. According to the theoretical research and practical needs, this section proposes the crisis problems of teachers' identity, and then pointed out the problems in the exist literatures, it also explaines the significance in both theoretical and practical, and the methodological tools used in research.Part two, types of teachers' identity. This part makes a theoretical elaborate on the types of teachers' identity in our country, compares and analyzes the institutionlized teachers' identity to the real situation that the one's in people's conception.Part three, the performance of the crisis in teachers' identity. Combines with the existing research literature, it makes a comprehensive graspe in the current crisis of teachers' identity in our country. The mainly performance as follows: teachers' identity generalization, the crisis of traditional teachers' status, and alienation of teachers' image through media.Part four, analyzing the reasons for the identity crisis. Makes analysis and discussion respectively from three aspects: the system level, the traditional culture and the teachers' themselves.Part five, reshaping the ethical teachers' identity. In a further attempt to explore a strategy on ethical teachers' identity, this part shows and elucidats from three aspects: teachers' economic status, teachers' autonomy and teachers' human respect.
