A Study On The Setting And Regulation Of Speciality Structure Of Universities In Fujian Province After The Enrollment Expansion

At the background of massification of higher educatin, with the rapid enrollment and the decline of the entrance standard, the public doubt whether the quality of higher education is decreasing. To answer the enrollment expansion of college and universities, new established undergraduate institutions appear in China, the number of specialities increases, the enrollment of some specialities expand greatly. What changes have taken place on speciality structure of colleges and universities, can it meet the needs of regional development? How to regulate the speciality structure of colleges and universities for serving regional development, that can promote the students to obtain employment and their long-term vocational career development. To study the above questions is a very significative task. The issue is based on the above research value, I expect to reach ab uno disce omnes intention by regional research.The issue has four parts. In Chapter One, the theoretical bases and the research significance are presented, correlative literature is summarized, some important definitions and the research thoughtways are stated. Chapter One, Chapter Two, Chapter Three, are the main body of the issue. In Chapter Two, largely identical but with minor differences of discipline and speciality structure are found by comparation discipline structure of our nation with that of Fujian since the expansion of higher education; the actuality and problems of the speciality structure of universities in Fujian during the tenth five-year are mentioned; finally the traits and problems of speciality setting and speciality construction in new universities are presented by representative case study. In chapter Three, by comparation with actuality and trend of industry development in Fujian province, the challenge that Fujian faces, the labor market, the issue open out main problems that stand out against the undergraduate speciality regulation of universities in Fujian. In chapter Four, the issue has analyzed the four sides in significance of the speciality structure regulation, the guidance idea and basic principles of the speciality regulation, and the following is the opinion and advice on how to regulate the undergraduate speciality structure of universities in Fujian province. The last is the conclusion. The regulation of the speciality structure of universities in Fujian should pay attention to the harmonious development of Economic Zone to the west side of the Taiwan Strait and the outline of the eleventh five-year plan, forecast properly and precede the labor market. The regulation of the speciality structure of universities should also keep to the rules of discipline development, meet the needs of massive higher education. The key to the regulation of the speciality structure is serving the regional economic development as the aim, is to construct the creativity mechanism of speciality constructure regulation. In a word, the regulation and optimization of speciality structure means to meet the needs of massive higher education—to cultivate invidualized persons, universities differs in types.
