| Speciality structure plays a significant role in the higher education.This paper takes E-University and S-University as the cases,and reviews the evolution of undergraduate speciality structure in recent 30 years.It explores the rule of this evolution,and it aims to give some pertinent suggestions to the adjustment of undergraduate speciality structure of China's other universities in the future.In Part one,the paper narrates the origin of the study:the importance of speciality structure in China's colleges and universities and the reasons for taking E-University and S-University as the cases.Then the paper reviews the former research into undergraduate speciality structure,and defines the main concepts.This provides a good foundation and platform for the following study.Last the paper explains the thoughts and frame of this study.The second part is the case studies,which is the focus of this thesis.The paper mainly analyzes the history of the evolution of undergraduate speciality structure of the E-University and S-University in recent three decades years,and highlights the thctors influencing the development of undergraduate speciality structure of the two universities tremendously,including social environment,national policies,as well as the school's development,and summarizes features and problems of the development of undergraduate major structure of the two Universities.The third part concludes and summarizes the result of study,and gives some suggestions.The development of undergraduate speciality structure of E-University and S-University has commonality and differences.Various factors affect its development,including the development of scientific knowledge,the school's own development,national education policy,regional economic development,as well as models,and so on.Because the major restructuring of the undergraduate in the two universities exists in some problems,I put forward three proposals:First,the major structure should be a reasonable position and strengthen characteristics;second,the major structure should adapt to social development;third,the discipline and speciality should develop harmoniously in the non-balanced development. |
