| With the aim to enforce the reform of chemistry curriculum in middle school, and to enhance students'science literacy, this paper employs the dialogue instruction to explore a new way of chemistry teaching in middle school. On the basis of interpreting the disadvantages of traditional chemistry teaching and the conception of present chemistry curriculum, this paper reconsiders the present situation of middle school chemistry teaching, pointing out that the present chemistry curriculum lacks genuine democracy and equality in the process of carrying out, which has a serious bad effect on the teaching quality of the chemistry curriculum. Then this paper analyzes the relevance between the cultivation of science literacy and dialogue instruction, pointing out that dialogue instruction guided by the spirit of dialogue instruction is a must to cultivate the students'science literacy. In order to lay a solid foundation for the research, this paper carefully illustrates the theoretical basis, definitions and features of dialogue instruction. At the end of this paper, dialogue instruction, which is explored in and out of class, is applied to chemistry teaching in middle school. This paper consists of five parts. Part one, research preview, describes the background, research questions, significance of the research, and the methodology, along with the present situation of dialogue teaching home and abroad.Part two, analyzing the present situation of chemistry curriculum. With the interpretation of the disadvantages of traditional chemistry teaching and the conception of the present chemistry curriculum, this paper points out that many problems still exist in the present chemistry teaching. i.e., the learning styles and the teaching model are still not changed or improved for real. On the basis of analyzing the relevance between the cultivation of science literacy and dialogue instruction, this part proposes that the guidance of dialogue instruction is entailed in chemistry teaching based on the curriculum reform and dialogue instruction should be advocated as the suitable teaching model at the present chemistry teaching.Part three, exploring the relevant questions on dialogue instruction. This part elaborates the author's understanding of dialogue instruction from the following three aspects: the theoretical basis, definitions and the features.Part four, exploring the in-class dialogue instruction in middle school. Taking experimental chemistry teaching as an example, this part explores how to conduct the dialogue instruction of in-class middle school chemistry teaching. Then, two experimental dialogue instruction models are constructed and the theoretical basis, operating procedures, operating strategies, instructional design and assessment of the two models are discussed systematically.Part five, exploring the out-class dialogue instruction in middle school. Out-class assignments and out-class online communication between the students and the teachers are explored in this part. |
