Life is the eternal theme of education. Recently, life education has drawn much of people's attention. It is an important trend for modern education to enter the students'life, heart and soul. Life education is mean to help the students to know more about life, treasure life, respect life and love life, so as to improve their living skills and life qualities; to help them play the infinite potential of life, find entertainment and value of life, in limited time with life ideas penetrating during the stage of school education time. The goal of life education in all is leading a kind of spirit that loving life and a kind of attitude that be active in living.The essay does some research on theories and practices of life education. The part of theory includes the concepts and contents of life education, and comparison between education at home and abroad. The part of practice based on the life education in our school, focuses on how to carry out life education and how to ensure the research. I think at present the main approaches to carryout the research in high school are as follows: 1. Provide the courses of life education. 2. Combine subject teaching with life education. 3. Perform life education in special topics. 4. Carry out life education in after-school activities. 5. Develop the campus culture on life education. 6. Unite schools, families and society to educate the students. In order to carry out life education, the newly-born course, we have to improve the schools'management, the teachers'qualities and the education evaluation.
