Research On The Leisure-time Activities Of College Students

With the rule of two days off on weekends implemented in China on May 1, 1995, and our Ministry of Education's an urgent inform on lessening overburden of the students, and a serious of institutions reformation deepen, the study hours of students at school are less than 200 days per year, which shows the students'leisure time increasing. Thus, it objectively demands our staffs in the education fields pay more attention to the issue of how to use the leisure time for the students and what kind of leisure activities they are engaged in.Based on the Chinese and foreign relative researches on leisure, leisure activities and leisure activities in colleges and universities, I make a special research on Liaodong University. Through questionnaires I get to know the time of students'leisure activities, contents, mode, purpose, consciousness characters and the factors affecting the students'freedom of arranging their leisure time effectively. After analyzing the research result, I find out that the students have relative sufficient leisure time; Leisure activities are a bit of diversity, showing a combination of static and dynamic features; The purpose is comparatively clear; Students attend the leisure activities with enthusiasm and initiative which does good to the students'development of their body and mind. Meanwhile, there are still some questions that need to be focused on and discussed. For example, there are great differences in the leisure time among the branch colleges, and the students'notion towards leisure is not clear; The contents of the students'leisure activities contain mainly those which are relaxing, stimulating, amusing and of sensual enjoyment, but less active and creative activities. The overall level of the students'leisure-time activities is not high. The students'plans are not clear, and the real proper places for the students'leisure activities are insufficient, and places available lack efficient organization and guide. Thus, from perspective of society, school and family, I propose my personal idea and suggestion on how to conduct the students'leisure activities and leisure education. From the point of view of society, we should cultivate a healthy and noble atmosphere, so as to establish a better environment to conduct leisure activities. School education should give full play to the dominant feature of leisure activities for students to strengthen the guidance and education. Parents should straighten their leisure consciousness, and try to provide a favorable condition for the students to develop abundant leisure activities.
