Since reform and opening up, with the establishment and improvement of socialist market economic system,our country's education system has also undergone a profound change, forming a national school-based, with wide participation of all sectors of the community school system in various forms,which makes the private universities recover and develop. However, the rise of private universities is so short that some problems have inevitably arisen in the situation of fierce competition at home and abroad, the sustainable development of private universities, private colleges and universities depends largely on their own improvement in the quality of teaching and the characteristics,and the school-running feature clearly becomes an important strategy and tactics.The full essay is divided into five sections:The first part of the paper is the introduction,which introduces the reason why China's private colleges and universities need to develop school-running feature,which is about the theoretical and practical significance.And the research status and the research methods have been described in the text.Chapter two elaborates on two aspects: the actuality of the private higher school in China and the feature of distinguishing feature in running schools. The actuality of the private higher school in China inspects through the source of the private higher school,the distribute of the private higher school,and the classifies of the private higher school. The meaning of the private higher school on distinguishing feature in running schools:First,make an explanation on the distinguishing feature in running schools,Second, analyse the maning of developing the distinguishing feature in running schools:Developing the distinguishing feature in running schools can make for pxploiting the living space of the private higher school,increase the students of the private higher school,improve the quality and social recognition of the private higher school.The third part is the analysis on the distinguishing feature in running schools of private higher school in China.This part is the main body of the article.After more than 20 years'development, some private higher school s have obtained good social popularity and the distinguishing feature in running schools is the main reason.This part includes four aspects : the characteristic of organization system, the characteristic of the school localization , the characteristic of the teachers co-operation and the characteristic of the raise pattern.In the organization system,the board of directors displays its superiority and resides in the core status in the organization system;In the specialty establishment aspect,the specialty is established according to the society demands . In the teachers co-operation aspect ,the way of the teachers co-operation in private higher schools is flexible;In the raise pattern, the private higher school adapts with the market economy development, goes out a characteristic development path.The fourth part ,problems in characteristics of private higher school in China.Private higher school as a result of the development of a comparatively short time,people is lack of their mode of development and distinguishing feature in running schools to explore,together with a number of other factors,so there are still many issues to be resolved in the exploration and practice of distinguishing feature in running schools.On the whole,distinguishing feature in private higher school is under construction.the problem of distinguishing feature in running schools is mainly from four aspects,the misreading of distinguishing feature in running schools, the convergence of orientation, lack of teacher characteristics, school culture not effectively supporting the development of distinguishing feature in running schools.In the construction of distinguishing feature in running schools,private higher school comes out features in order to features and believes that distinguishing feature in running schools and size of schools is a direct positive correlation and the school having the complete subject and distinguishing feature in running schools also is a direct positive correlation.
