Multimedia technology is the 1990s development of the new technologies. It refers to computer integrated multi-media information - text, graphics, images, data and voice so that the logic of the establishment of a wide range of information connectivity, integrated as a system and it is interactive."The media is an extension of the human body", teaching media extends the teachers'teaching hand, and extend the hands of students. The rapid development of multi-media teaching environment on behalf of information , meant to the revolution of education, this is the information society, the reflection of knowledge economy in education field, but also an objective requirement for the development of education. Secondary geography teaching should follow the development of the times, advancing with the times, and promote the development of academic disciplines and geographic information geography teaching and modernization.Teaching and the modernization of the media will not necessarily produce the modernization of education. It also needs a scientific theory as the guiding principle. This paper discusses the theory of pedagogy, psychology theory, the theory of modern multimedia learning applied by the secondary geography teaching the important role of theoretical guidance. Although our application of multimedia technology to education, has more than 20 years of history, but in the application process, the actual teaching has always been lack theoretical guidance. Based on geographical information technology disciplines and integration advantages of the status quo and begin analysis. Multimedia first proposed the concept of teaching geography and the tremendous role. From a geographical perspective characteristics of the subjects discussed in secondary schools in the application of multimedia teaching geography methods, the application has obvious advantages. And then the secondary geography teaching is an important task - environmental education, environmental education on the importance of teaching in geography education in environmental advantages, as well as the current situation of China's environmental education and problems. Then analyzed in the multi-media teaching environment geography disciplines infiltration environmental education advantage. Multimedia promote effective teaching geography in the integration of education and the environment, so as to realize the information and modernization.
