With the rapid development of society, there is closer contact between human's life and their environment. People have paid extensive attention to their harmoniousness. It is self-evident that English learning environment of students is very important and helpful to their English learning. Foreign language filed is paying more and more attention to it. Many learning environmental factors, such as individual diversity, learning strategies, learning affection, teaching methods and so on, have been deeply studied and many achievements have been obtained. All the factors which influence English learning of middle school students are regarded as the environmental ones in this thesis. Zhuhai is set as a case of studying the students' English learning environment. These harmful factors will be analyzed, and the relevant ameliorative measures will be put forward in the thesis. It will be of great significance of enlightenment and direction for us to accelerate the basic English education reform in Zhuhai or the other regions in China.This paper, based on behaviorism, constructivism, social linguistics and SLA theories, does some research through questionnaire and interviews on the internal and external English learning environment of middle school students in Zhuhai. It has been discovered that some internal factors such as basic English level, learning strategies, interest, motivation, anxiety, perseverance and attribution, and some external factors such as the examination pressure, evaluation, teachers' training, text books, teachers' qualities (including teaching beliefs, teaching skills, teaching methods and morality ect.), modern educational technology, the scale of class, English learning atmosphere, family education and English training institutes impede to some extent students' better English learning. According to the mentioned factors and corresponding findings above, some ameliorative measures have been put forward.We must stress the significance of learning environment of Chinese students and constantly optimize the English learning environment, in order to upgrade our Chinese students' English level and deepen the basic English education reform.
