The outputs of post-doctor can be measured by the quantity and quality of the paper, project and application patent. This paper develops a framework for analyzing the science research and innovation capacity of postdoctors several disciplines (biology, materials science and engineering, Communication and Information Engineering) are detailed selected and analyzed, whose scientific research outputs can be easily measured by papers.The Post-doctoral science research capacity is classied by the quantity and quality of paper. The difference between universities, disciplines and team work for post-doctor are respectively analyzed by means of ANOVA analyses.The conclusions are: while the anverage quantity of papers published in postdoctoral stage is less than that in doctoral stage, the quality of published papers is higher than such that in doctoral stage as measured by wether the papers are published in the Chinese core journals or SCI journals respectively. Beside, The post-doctors from"non-985" universities to " 985" ones or those having changed discipline both show having higher science research and innovation capacity and more willness of doing team work,which means the two basic institution of the post-doctor ---interuniversities and interdisciplinary- does matter. Lastly, based on the analysis, some deficiencies in this institution are pointed out, and some policy suggestions are given.
