The quality of instruction in secondary vocational schools needs improving efficiently with the renewed investigation of vocational education. The three theories of constructivism, learning environment and situated teaching provide a basis of theory and possibility of practice for the situated mathematics teaching in vocational schools. However, at present few people have both theoretically and practically explored the combination of mathematics scene creation with engineering majors in vocational schools and no systematic theory has formed. So there's still a lot to study.The researcher of this article chose 527 students altogether for the study, who were all from 5 classes in Grade One, 5 classes in Grade Two and 3 classes in Grade Three of a vocational school in Qingpu, Shanghai and most of whom were majoring in engineering. This study uses the methods of Literature analysis, investigation, case analysis and so on. The purpose of this research is to find ways which combine the situated mathematics teaching with engineering majors in vocational schools through practical teaching, summarizing and thinking constantly. Using these ways, the teachers can fully arouse the students'learning enthusiasm for mathematics and make them more active in class. Besides, the ways can play a better tool role in vocational mathematics teaching to help the students form a solid mathematics foundation.After about two years'research, the writer has finished making the researches on five aspects. They are an investigation and analysis on the current study state of the vocational school students'; a comparative analysis on the interest of the engineering students'in mathematics and engineering; strategies for situated mathematics teaching combined with the engineering majors in vocational schools; the models of situated mathematics teaching combined with the engineering majors in vocational schools and the study of the teaching cases; analysis on effect of the situated mathematics teaching combined with the engineering majors in vocational schools. On the basis of those, this research paper draws the following main conclusions:In the mathematics teaching to the engineering students of the vocational schools, carrying out situated mathematics teaching combined with engineering majors is not only completely doable but also highly effective.The principles of compatibility, conflict, practicability and interest should be followed in the situated mathematics teaching combined with the engineering majors in vocational schools.Different teaching models such as problem situation, operation situation and process situation are often used in the situated mathematics teaching combined with engineering majors in vocational schools.Situated mathematics teaching combined with engineering majors in vocational schools conforms to the vocational school students'study characteristics. It may enhance the students'study interest, improve their learning to mathematics. What's more, it can cause the students even more to approve the value of mathematics.In the eyes of the professional development, situated mathematics teaching combined with engineering majors in vocational schools is more helpful to the students'specialized learning and development. It also shows the tool role of mathematics.This research wishes to put forward the following suggestions for situated mathematics teaching combined with engineering majors in vocational schools:Firstly, secondary vocational schools should carry out training for their math teachers, particularly basic professional related knowledge of training for those who are required a demanding profession for math.Secondly, to different majors, it is good to choose and purchase different math teaching materials and exercises to strengthen the students'math learning. It is also good to compile school-based mathematics teaching materials.Thirdly, the math teachers of vocational schools should study actively to get to know the main application of math in their majors. They should use situated mathematics teaching selectively and pay attention to the need for systematic and precise mathematics knowledge, for what they teach are math lessons after all, not specialized courses. combined with engineering majors mathematics teaching...
