Research Of The Qing Dynasty Suzhou Academies

Academy was an important form of educational organizations in the ancient of China, as an important component of the traditional education system, has had the significant impact to the ancient education. Suzhou area was always called the place of"wealth or galaxy of talent", its culture and education enterprise were specially developed, and the academy education was also its important form.Suzhou Academies had a long history, Founded start from Southern Song Dynasty, developed passes through Yuan and Ming dynasties, entered its peak stage of Qing Dynasty. Qing Dynasty Suzhou Academies presented many remarkable characteristics in the developing process, not only produced many famous academies, moreover emerged numerous renowned academy masters, had established the leading position in the country. Qing Dynasty Suzhou Academies' prosperous, had trained a large number of talented people, flourished academic culture, promoted the education developed and the cultural popularization, became the important base of academic research and dissemination, had had the enormous influence to the academic atmosphere in the region of Wu.This article takes Qing Dynasty Suzhou Academies as object of study, inspects the development process, the space and time distribution and characteristics of Suzhou Academies in Qing Dynasty, and takes academy masters as the important object of study. This paper selects four renowned academy masters: Zhang boxing, Shen qiyuan, Qian daxin and Feng guifen, through inspect their practices of academy education, as well as they took Suzhou Academy as the base to carry on the academic innovative activities, discuss the influence of the academy masters' academic innovation to Suzhou Academies, then discusses the relationship between Suzhou academies and Qing Dynasty academic atmosphere in the region of Wu. Makes every effort to make the system, the thorough inspection and the discussion to Qing Dynasty Suzhou Academies' many questions, expects to promote the continuous deepening and new development of the Wu--culture research.
