University moral educations in China and America have their own advantages. Each of them has a certain aspect of the research in moral education. They are the result of education practice. Therefore both of their existence has special background and important value of study. In order to offer some valuable thoughts to university moral education in our country during the new era, it studies university moral education under different social and cultural condition and compares university moral education in China with that of America.There are five parts in the article. In the first part, it introduces the research meanings, research current situations and research methods, and defines the central concepts. In the second part, it analyzes Chinese and American universities'current situations of moral education. And the third part, it mainly compares Chinese university moral education with American moral education. According to the comparison with two countries' university moral education form, the first layer points out the development of two countries' normal education goal. The second layer compares Chinese university education content and its character, American moral education content and its character at the same time. Basing on the comparison between two countries' moral education method, the third layer draws a conclusion upon the common figure in two countries' university moral education practice. In the fourth part, the article analyzes the factors which are theory bases; value direction and policy cause the diversity of Chinese and American university moral education. The last part describes some inspiration that obtains from the comparison between two countries' university moral education method. The article considers: it's necessary to set up the university moral education with Chinese character which influences people gradually; university moral education need enrich its methods; it must break through the limitation of some old ideas, inspire a new system; university moral education should take the cultivation of national spirit as its backbone; it ought to pay more attention to basic university moral quality while facing great competition.
