Public Department of the Central Committee and Ministry of Education have formally passed the reform scheme to the extant education system of the Ideological and Political Courses in Higher Education in 2005 .The courses has become four parts, which are basic principles of Marxism, Mao Tse-tung Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and the introduction of "three representing" thought, Outline of Chinese Modern History, ideological and ethical culture, and the basis of law. The reform scheme will bring huge changes to the instruction of the Ideological and Political Courses in Higher Education.At the same time, as the application of the modern information technology becoming more and more widely in the education field, revolutionary changes have taken place in the concept, content, and methods of the instruction. Using the modern information technology to drive an education reform has become the main current in the development of the education.Under such circumstances, the old instruction models are not suitable in the instruction of the Ideological and Political Courses in Higher Education any more. So it becomes a new problem to explore some new instruction models of the Ideological and Political Courses in Higher Education, which becomes the important part of this research.The main body of this thesis has analyzed the evolution, characteristics and extant problems of the Ideological and Political Courses in Higher Education first, and brought forward the solutions, and analyzed the goal, content, the position and relation to the Ideological and Political Courses in Higher Education. Taking the course Outline of Chinese Modern History as an example, this thesis then explored the application of four types of information-based instructional models applying to the Ideological and Political Courses on the basis of summarizing the concept, fundamental formation, characteristics, functions , classes and the relevant theories of the instruction models. This thesis provided theoretical guidance and support to the concrete design and development of the automation tool on instructional design applying to the Ideological and Political Courses.
