In China, The English Curriculum Standards for Full-time Compulsory Education (revised) and The English Curriculum Standards for Senior High School (experimental) promulgated by Ministry of Education both advocate the approach of studying and trying Task-based Language Teaching (TBLT) in English teaching. New Curriculum Standards demand teachers try to make the widest possible use of TBLT instead of imparting knowledge; so that students can develop the language competence, thinking ability and communication competence during the process of accomplishing the tasks. Thus, students can improve their integrated language competence.Nowadays, more and more teachers are adopting TBLT. However, as a new mode of English teaching, TBLT doesn't have a new set of evaluation system to match. Hence, this paper plans to study classroom teaching evaluation (CTE) on TBLT in high school, according to the theory and the practice of TBLT. The paper aims to improve teachers'teaching and the use of TBLT.The paper contains three parts:The first part is Literature Review. It introduces TBLT, CTE, and present study on TBLT and CTE.The second part is about a survey which investigates teachers'thinking and practice on CTE for TBLT. Questionnaire and interview are used in this part. Finally, there is a discussion according to the data collected and analyzed.The third part is a suggestion part. This paper gives some pieces of advice on how to evaluate TBLT in classroom teaching, proposes five principles of CET, and designs a set of classroom teaching evaluation system on TBLT. |
