In the course of the traditional history teaching, because of the definition of history, the stable chapters of contents and the emphasis put on the evaluation of knowledge, there is a teacher-centered phenomenon in which students learn passively .This kind of way ignores the main position of students in teaching and neglects the nurturing of the students' ability, thus makes the historical teaching fixed, dull and inactive. Accompanied by the reform of fundamental education is the reform of historical teaching in high school.Inquiry teaching is a kind of scientific teaching method welcomed and highly praised in different countries. It has the advantage of training the talents, overcoming the shortcomings of traditional teaching and is suitable for the requests of the reform in fundamental education. How to combine this method and the traditional teaching method in the application in high school historical teaching is a question worthy of being researched.In order to apply better high school history Inquiry Teaching ,the text explained inquiry teaching and research in the formation, development, and research on the basis of the status, the first of Inquiry Teaching was defined on the history of the basic characteristics of Inquiry Teaching and Educational Psychology theoretical basis, and it then put forward in high school history class on that basis in the implementation of the five principles of Inquiry Teaching and the Teaching constructed concrete steps "asking the problems - learning materials - exchanges the dicussion- on the issue -summarized - thinking training," 6 Steps. Finally, in high school history class experimental study Teaching the steps of operation and explore the effectiveness of the teaching demonstration.
