As the rapid development of information technology, informationization has become the distinctive features of the worldwide economic and social development. Informationization improves not only the ability and the speed of dealing with daily affairs, but also brings unprecedented influences and changes on our thinking, ideas and habits. In the field of higher education, informationization changes the means, mode and ideas of running the school, and have profound influences on the behavior, mind, thinking and value of the college students and build a new environment for the moral education in the universities and put forward new requirements for the moral education in the universities. This topic is analyzed and discussed in this thesis by the study of literature and comprehensive analysis. The whole thesis is divided into four parts.Firstly, it summarizes the background information of the study of this topic, analyzes the characteristics of moral education under the traditional conditions and its disadvantages, and introduces the current research of this topic at home and aboard. Secondly, it discusses the influences of information-based moral education in the universities. Informationization brings about the new opportunities for the moral education, and makes the moral education face the new challenges. Thirdly, it analyzes the aim, task, characteristics, and innovation of basic ideas of information-based moral education in the universities. Finally, it emphasizes the ways on how to innovate the information-based moral education, and explores how to improve the effectiveness of moral education in the universities by discussing the idea, guiding principles, system of moral work, ways and means of moral work and the improvement of information technology of the university students.
