Verbal expression ability is a key link in senior high school politics teaching system. The trainning of this ability is closely related to senior high school politics teaching, according to no matter the regulations of new curriculum standard or the trainning aims determined by the features of the course of politics. In order to improve students'verbal expression ability, the senior high school politics teachers have put considerable emphasis on it in their teaching. However, the students'verbal expression ability is not so satisfactory: they are lack of authentic ideas in speech and are below standard in writing, ect.I hold the opinion that senior high school years is a key period for students to form their verbal exression ability, therefore, trying to develop their verbal expression ability in the course of politics is of great significance. This matters not only to the forming of the students'qualities in politics, and also to their overall development. How to change the recent situation that senior high school students are not rich or expressive in language? In order to search for the way to deal with this problem, I have compared the course of politics with the course of Chinese, which is a key course to develop students'language ability, read relative literature on the developping of this ability which is to be achieved in the course of Chinese, and I have interviewed part of the Chinese teachers. By reading the literature and doing reaserch, I find the problems and I try to analyze these problems in three aspects. First, the probems in students'verbal expression abilities are varied and the abilities of different students are of different levels; they are weak in oral expression. It is politics teachers who should do something for it. Second, the lack of terms related to politics limits the development of students'verbal expression ability. Therefore the politics teachers should pay more attention to the guidance to students'reading, in class or after class, especially the guidance to the reading of classics. Third, the learning of politics is not connected closely to practice, as a result, it is difficult for students to form a strong verbal expression ability in the course of politics. Politics teachers should think about connecting theory to practice, designing some exercises aiming at developing their verbal expression ability, and helping them improve concrete expressing ability by rational participation.In accordance of the problems mentioned above, I did researches of theory and had a try in practice. Hence I propose hereby the rules of developping students'verbal expression ability in the course of politics and the methods of achieving this goal in teaching: first, politics teachers should update their ideas and improve the verbal expression ability of their own so as to have a positive infulence to students. Second, the methods of connecting thinking ability with expressing ability should be adopted. Third, in politics teaching, teachers should try to consolidate students'theoratical basis, teach them the methods of improving verbal expression ability, and develop students'written and oral expression abilities by such trainning which are easy to operate as questions and answers, example teaching, essay writing ect.
