The higher education has achieved some success with the development of Chinese higher education, and the financial administration of it is also facing a more complex situation. It is necessary condition to maintain the good financial status and potential development power for higher schools develop sustainable and stably. Therefore, it has an important theoretical and practical value to evaluate the financial performance scientifically of higher schools and to feed back the financial information accurately and timely, as well as to acquire the potential development power.Based upon the conclusion of research both domestically and abroad, the essay firstly has had a study on the correlative conceptions of financial performance evaluation and its difficulties of higher school, analyzed the fundamental theories of higher school financial performance evaluation. Secondly, according to the principle of higher school financial evaluation, the essay constructs a set of financial evaluation index system that can reflect features of higher school. Thirdly, the essay applied hierarchical cluster analysis and multiple correlation coefficients to optimize and sift the performance evaluation system. Fourthly, based on this system, the author applied combination-weighting method to evaluate the financial performance of higher schools that belongs to Shanxi province. The essay adopts Spearman rank correlation coefficient test to choose the most coincident weighting method, and uses Kendall concordance coefficient to test the result of the evaluation, and then presents a deep analysis of the results.
