| The internationalization strategy made by the administration committee of NBA brings about flourishing of its market, which even exceeds the former periods like"Black and White"and the"Air man"Michel Jordan in degree. Yao Ming joined in NBA in 2002, which infused new life into NBA and opened up a more capacious market. Meanwhile, Yao turned into one of the athletes who had great influence on the Chinese physical history. His emergence plays an important role in the development of basketball and sports enterprise of China as well as the shifting of the world basketball structure. Taking this as the starting point, adopting a comprehensive study method involving documentation, logical analysis and mathematical statistics, etc., this paper has an embedded analysis of Yao's growth process and the reason why he could make such a great achievement as well as his influence on basketball sports both in China and across the world. The author also gives some ideas and suggestions in relation to aspects such as Yao's further development, the system fabricating of selecting and fostering basketball talents in China and the improvement of Chinese competing level in basketball matches.Study shows that: (1) At the age of 18, Yao Ming remained an annual increment of height of over 3 cm, overstepping the limit of 1cm of common people, which shows that he had a longer duration of upgrowth;(2) Yao Ming received regular training at an early age and had more chances of competing, especially his four years'forging in CBA speedily boosted his levels both in skills and tactics. The win-win cooperation of Yao and NBA made Yao a great star in the basketball forum and also brought about an immense commercial domino effect for NBA, which further solidified its globalization strategy; (3) Foreign enterprises tapped Yao's great commercial value successfully, making their products swiftly occupying home market via the medium of Yao; while domestic enterprises did not do well in this aspect and still wait for further upgrading; (4) Yao Ming brings along the intercommunication of eastern and western cultures. He shows our Chinese healthy and upward image as well as some integral qualities such as reserve, modesty, diligence, patriotism, self-restraint and humorousness, etc. to the whole world, which accelerates the understanding of western world towards China. (5) Except his body height, Yao is short of lots of inherence an excellent basketball athlete needs, yet his limitation is fetched up by his professional physical spirit and indomitable spirit; his success also attributes to his patriotism, hard struggling and spirits of industriousness and frugality;(6) The family environment of Yao provides him a favorable basis for his shaping. Besides, the ceaseless perfecting of the match system of CBA, the unremitting intercourses in basketball between China and America, especially the internationalization of NBA, and also the successful operation of"Yao's team", all of these turn into crucial factors of Yao's success.This paper also proposes some advice as follows:(1) The case of Yao offers a mode to the system of selecting talented persons with ability in China. We should have a further study on Yao Ming's law of growth and also Yao's domino effect; (2) We advise relevant domestic enterprises should make full use of Yao's advantage, and create forceful brands so as to exploit the international market and create more commercial values;(3) In the aspect of skills and tactics, we should intensify the aggression and domination below the basket, reduce the times of misplaying, shorten the time on the court, try to protect ourselves and decrease the occurrence of being injured. |
