Educational punishment has experienced three major stages: corporal punishment, covert corporal punishment and psychological punishment. With the economic and social development, we know the corporal punishment and psychological punishment seriously influence on students' physical and mental health. Therefore, many experts and scholars show different views of point. The paper mainly studies on psychological punishment in education and teaching practice on the primary school period, research on the causes, characteristics and manifestation and put forward specific prevention countermeasures. Because the influence of psychological punishment is heavy and the manifestation is hidden, we must find out the nature, cause and result of psychological punishment and discover correct education methods to promote students' physical and mental health development.Combining empirical study with theoretical study, the paper completely explains the relationship of education and punishment, punishment and corporal punishment, corporal punishment and psychological punishment according to analyzing and concluding relevant materials at home and abroad. Based on analysis on characteristics, nature, manifestation and potential harm, the paper puts emphasis on the causes and prevention measures. The causes include traditional educational value, educational inequity, teachers' cognition bias and unclear educational laws and disciplines. The nature is that si a kind of destroy to human nature and a serious education morbid form. In addition, it includes characteristics of generality, tacit and posteriori. Psychological punishment has many harms, it can cause tension for personal relationship, induce psychological and behavior obstacles, even lead to commit crimes.Finally, according to above causes, the paper puts forward relevant measures: strengthening method education on students, setting up right learning goals, training good learning habits, improving self-management capability. Meantime, teachers should set up scientific educational value, build equal and harmonious relationships between teachers and students, and overall improve professional qualities.
