With the continuous development of our country's new courses reform, Chinese, as a widely applicable and abundant foundational course, plays a more and more important role in cultivating new generations with creativity and practice that the modern society need. However, the inborn limitation and the general phenomenon of "high consume but low effect" has already influenced the development of Chinese education. This text thinks that apart from the Chinese course in Junior middle school, the above problem can be solved by bringing the extracurricular activities into use as an assistant, then to gain a certain effect of Chinese teaching. This text tries to define the extracurricular activities of Junior middle school: in the stage of Junior middle school, a series of extracurricular activities should be put in practice, which should be in a planned and organized way, on the base of students' interest, demand and ability, on the focus of student-center activities, to get the direct experience and instant information, to improve students' interest in Chinese, develop their intelligence and personality as well as cultivate their creativity and practice ability; which is also with the purpose of improving Chinese quality and is complementary to Chinese course.This text is totally divided into 7 chapters. Chapter 1 discusses the background and significance of Chinese extracurricular activities from the development of Ages and the requirements of Chinese course reform. Chapter 2 draws lessons from a domestic and international research, and discusses the content of Chinese extracurricular activities of Junior middle school and its basic characteristics, so there is a sensible understanding of Chinese extracurricular activities. Chapter 3 discusses the structure foundation of Chinese extracurricular activities of Junior middle school from the view of theory and practice., in order to grasp the opportunity of developing extracurricular activities and timely teach effectively. Chapter 4 discusses the aims and design principles of Chinese extracurricular activities from the aspect of attitude, emotion, knowledge and so on, making it rule-based. Chapter 5 lists resources of some schools, which are combined with fact, and discusses how to exploit these resources under the background of the new course reform. Chapter 6 discusses the content design, forms of activities and strategy of instructions from the point of practice. Chapter 7 introduces the teaching approaches and the principles, standard and methods of evaluation. At last, the text evaluates a case of Chinese extracurricular activity of Junior middle school.
