Reading is an important method to collect and handle information, knows the world, develop thinking and ,an experience beauty .Reading is meantime a process of self-study and self-improvement.After-class reading is very important in Chinese reading in the high school, which is the beneficial extension and complement of classroom teaching .The language teacher' s key job not only lies in encouragement, but also lies in guidance .A directive purpose for after-class reading is to teach students the methods and strategies, and help students form a good habit of Chinese reading, in the hope of the students' ability of self-study by a teacher's long-term and systematic guiding activities. Based on the conclusion of other research achievements both at home and abroad and the theory of cognitive psychology and modern reading, this thesis presents the steps in guiding after-class reading and several models of guiding middle school after-class reading from the perspective of teaching and learning, especially the perspective of teaching (how the teacher train the students to command the technique of after-class reading).This thesis pointes out that guiding after-class reading should follow these steps: 1. construct the system of after-class reading technique; 2. develop reading skills training; 3. conduct reading technique guiding; 4. advance the learning and transfer of reading technique.Last but not the least, this thesis discusses two models in the guiding of middle school after-class reading: the model of setting special class of guiding learning technique and the model of interacting in-class and after-calss subjects.
