Research On The Cultivation Of Cultural Awareness In EFL Teaching In Vocational Schools

With the further study of language and research on language teaching, people have got a better understanding of language and culture. It has been widely recognized that English teaching and learning will not reach its desired goal without integration of relevant culture information. Through the method of investigation, interviewing teachers and students, the paper analyzes the factors which affect students'cultural awareness in vocational school. At last some implications are concluded, which aims at providing some guidance for English culture teaching in vocational school.This paper is made up of four chapters.The first chapter tells the meaning, importance of English teaching in vocational education. Then it analyzes the present situation of vocational school students and their English studies.The second chapter introduces the relationship between language and culture and culture teaching in English teaching.The third chapter researches the factors which affect students'cultural awareness in vocational school, through methods of investigation and interviewing. The forth chapter analyzes the factors which affect students'cultural awareness in vocational school, researches methods for The Building of Cultural Awareness in English teaching.The aim of the paper is to call for the teachers'recognition of cultivating the students'culture awareness in Vocational English Teaching and it is hoped that the author will further the research in the future teaching.
