Under the western university school pattern's influence, the local traditional culture and the national characteristics of Chinese University is disappearing gradually and being assimilated, therefore, the academic circle has raised successively the high tides of studying the ancient shu-yuan of China two times, and has made a fruitful progress. What these study was based on the ancient times, and based on the traditional researches. But in the practice aspect, the Chinese University of Hong Kong has made the model for us. In the last few years, the Chinese University of Hong Kong receives inland scholar's favor greatly more and more. The interior many college entrance examination foremost people in the field rather discard the domestic First-class universities, for instance, the Qinghua University, Beijing University and so on, than to choose entering the Chinese University of Hong Kong. This phenomenon's appear, besides the certain own utility demand, the school pattern, the mode of administration, the educational goal and so on yearned for by the large number of students. The Chinese University of Hong Kong is the most important academic strategic place in the Hong Kong higher education system. It has the cultural idea and the education spirit which believed by itself. Under the time background, its academy system characteristic has entrusted with the new time content and significance, realized the transformation. The academy system's approval and use, to university's development and education function's realization, has the positive role. The present paper takes"the present age"as the research background and selected topic angle, first inspected the Chinese University of Hong Kong Academy's formation and the historical development as well as the characteristic, the emphases is to find out the Chinese University of Hong Kong Academy's spirit of the age through the comparison ancient time's academy spirit, carries on to the contemporary annotates, and induces the form factor, and finally makes the appraisal , attempts to provide the experiences and enlightenment for the Chinese University's development and the university spirit's remold, today, in the higher education intense transformation's time, has the important meaning.The present paper's writing frame mainly divides into five parts, the central thought is summarize the contemporary academy spirit, regarding this center, first inspects the object of study's historical development survey, and summarizes the characteristic, subsequently turns into the subject, gives us the academy's spirit of the age, and introduces the illustration separately, with explained how this spirit does manifest, which aspects manifests in and so on, follows closely is analyzing how can this kind of spirit of the age produce, takes the time as the clue, longitudinal and horizontal analysis, finally makes the appraisal, gives the enlightenment.The introduction includes three subject matters, first, briefly explains the background and significance of selecting this topic, second, synthetically states the general research conditiones in this field home and abroad, third, clearly illustrate the research thought and main methods adopted by this thesis.The first part inspects the formation and development of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, because the academy is composed greatly by many shu-yuan, therefore only takes the New Asia academy as the key narration object in the establishment stage, several other academies make the simple outline, and make the joins of the Yifu academy, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the Chinese University of Hong Kong 's combination event, the other five academies' construction as three stages which the academy's development, then through theory, practice and management summarize the shu-yuan characteristics of the Chinese University of Hong Kong;The second part, is the present paper's key point, summarizes the shu-yuan's time spirit of the Chinese University of Hong Kong through comparing with the Chinese ancient shu-yuan spirit; namely the world spirit, the participation spirit, the humanities and the science and technology pay equal attention to spirit.The third part is also the present paper's key point, continues the second part, analyzes the reasons that the shu-yuan time spirit of the Chinese University of Hong Kong came into being, from to the traditional culture's understanding, to the contemporary education situation's self-reflection, to the ancient tines academy spirit's inheritance, to the higher education globalization transformation four aspects to the ancient times academy spirit to carry on the elaboration separately.The fourth part estimates the shu-yuan time spirit of the Chinese University of Hong Kong., the goal is absorbing experience, providing reference and inspires for the Chinese Modern University's school pattern, namely the origination modern university must process the contract of tradition with the modern age, the native with to blend together the West, maintains the independence and service the society, insists humanities and prospering science and technology and so on.The present paper's fresh writing place lies, the home treatises for the academy and the academy spirit are very richly, they summarized predecessor's research results, or studied the academy and the education, the academy and the philosophy, the academy and the building's relations and so on, also concentrated the field of vision in the former individual dynasty's case academy or region academy, thus summarized the related academy characteristic or academy spirit.
