Problem-solving learning has a long history. The essence of developing students' physical competence lies in developing their innovative ability as well as their problem-solving ability. Accordingly, the current physical teaching reform centers on how to promote senior high school students' physical problem-solving competence. Based on the theories concerning "solving problems" and "the probe-oriented teaching" , this thesis aims at making students " learn happily" " learn efficiently" " learn well" through the probe-oriented teaching so as to improve the senior high school physical classroom efficiency. On the basis of a careful research into the defects existing in the traditional physical classroom teaching, the author proposes promoting senior high school students' problem-solving competence via "the probe-oriented teaching" and comes up with the teaching strategies for teachers to refer to: give directions and create situations; (2) students experience and explore physical problems autonomously; (3) students cooperate and communicate ; (4) reflex and self-evaluate to develop their cognition; (5) drill and induce. This empirical study reveals that students have extremely increased the self-confidence and interest in learning Physics after a series of training in the framework of the probe-oriented teaching and that the probe-oriented teaching can promote the senior high school students' physical problem-solving competence, which testifyes that the implementation of the teaching strategy of promoting senior high school students' physical problem-solving ompetence via the probe-oriented teaching can improve the physical classroom teaching efficiency in seniro high schools.
