| With the deepening economic globalization, China's entry into WTO and the arrival of knowledge economic times, China's higher education is now facing more and more fierce international competition. Also, the accelerated popularized educational style causes the competition among domestic universities even more vehement. In the process of commercialized competition,as an independent competing subject in terms of interests, universities are competing for the necessary elements which enable the university to survive and to be competitive, such as the funds, human resources, good students and social credibility. Competition differentiates various universities in their ability to abstain rare resources, and it's more obvious in local universities.Borrowing and absorbing the theory of core competition, following the local universities'development rule and schooling feature taking the case of how SUES developed its core competition edge as an example, this dissertation is trying to figure out the way to SUES's sustained development through enhancing its core competition ability, which in turn will be instructive to finding out the core competition ability adapting to local universities, In writing, the dissertation draws on many international and domestic scholars and specialists' research fruits concerning the core competition, university administration, etc. As to the research methods, it mainly uses literature research, comparison analysis, case analysis, questionnaire, etc. In the whole research process, it has been through theory elaboration, case analysis and countermeasure research.It has three main parts.The first chapter is theoretical analysis. It's focused on research background, research objective, theory basis, current situation, writing ideas, basic framework and research method. It's main purpose is to provide theoretical foundation for researching the core competition in local universities.The second chapter is case analysis. In analyzing case study about how the Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES) fosters its core competition, it elaborates theory, learns historical lessons and examines its current experiences, and finally, validates the scientific importance of cultivating the core competition in local universities.The third chapter is research analysis. For the purpose of realizing the improvement and upgrading of core competition, so as to ensure the continuous development of SUES's core competition, it uses several methods such as questionnaire, SWOT analysis, AHP analysis, etc, and in the end, fixes on the key and important elements that work on the realization of SUES's strategic development.The fourth chapter is the conclusion. It brings forward countermeasures and suggestions in four aspects on how to further improve SUES's core competition, that is, establishing ject platform so as to develop advantageous subject; reforming schooling pattern in forms of enhancing cooperation between production and education; regarding people-serving as the ultimate goal so as to build a high-level school staff; implementing comprehensive reform so as to establish scientific and efficient systems. |
