China's New Revised Curriculum for Middle School explicitly stipulates that Task-based Language teaching/Learning (TBL or TBLT) approach should be advocated to develop students'comprehensive abilities of using a language.The learners learn and use English through thinking, investigation, discussion, communication and cooperation during their accomplishing tasks. The learners'mental conditions are always activities when they accomplish tasks. The communication process is a modern educational theory which the learner is a main part and the teacher a leading role.TBLT aims at providing opportunities for the learners to experiment with and explore both spoken and written language through learning activities which are designed to engage learners in the authentic, practical and functional use of language for meaningful purposes.The purpose of this thesis is to find out problems and counter-measures which are arisen after investigating when the teachers application of TBLT. The detail research as follow:a. What are the major problems of application of TBLT in junior middle school? andb. What counter-measures can be used according to mention above problems.The objects of study of this thesis are junior middle schools of NongAn county, JiLin province, Changchun No.1 Foreign Language School, Changchun No.25 Junior Middle School and Changchun No.106 Junior Middle School,including 300 teachers and 300students.The books for students called Go for it are published by the People's Educational Press. It is cooperated by People's Educational Press and American Thomson Learning Company. It adopts task-based language teaching form. It combines the topic communication, function and language structures together. It forms a gradual and authenticity study programmer.In this research, the writer uses the way of combing investigation, observing in classroom and talking to find problems in application of TBLT and then gives counter-measures according to the problems after investigating and talking with these teachers. The substances of talking with students are students'activities in their classroom. It took the writer about three semesters to do the statistics for these data collected from investigation, observing and talkingThe result shows that although we use Go for it and application of TBLT, Most teachers cannot grasp the spirit of TBLT so that they still use traditional methods to teach English in classroom. We find out nine aspects of problems and give counter-measures. The write hope this thesis will give some inspirations for teachers teaching in junior middle school and other researchers who will do the same study in the future.
