In recent years, more and more studies have been carried out on tasks with the appearance of task syllabus. However, most of them are theoretical study. There are not many experimental studies on TBLT, especially in the field of foreign language writing. Task-based syllabuses focus on tasks-centered pedagogic activities. The syllabuses involve the learners in the process of learning by asking them to complete real-world tasks. They advocate the teaching of language knowledge in addition to the training of learners' ability to use language comprehensively. The author conducted an experiment on TBLT in EFL writing class with the purpose of verifying the effect of TBLT on learners' motivation and writing performance, intending to find out the specific problems while implementing the approach in China.By analyzing the data on the spelling mistakes, the use of conjunctions, and the T-units, the author finally comes to a conclusion that TBLT is really effective on activating the learners' motivation to learn writing, but there are some problems during the course of implementing the approach. The author also put forward some suggestions on the application of TBLT in China.
