With the development of productivity,consumption society appears ,during the last 20 years,the study of consumption culture gradually turns into center from research field' verge in the west. This thesis mostly analyzes Mike Feathstone' consumer culture theory and a series of problems about post-modernism theory,during the analysis,let's reflect the connection of consumption culture and post-modernism.This thesis can be divided into four parts. The first part mostly analyzes Mike Feathstone' consumer culture theory. Mike Feathstone differentiates three perspective about consumer culture research,and he knows that the consciousness of people aren't completely manipulated by the masses society from people' experience,he also discusses the problem about the religion in the consumption society;in the second part,we can see his post-modernism theory which is explained by the way of practice analysis and long-times analysis,we think these methods should be studied in the contemporary era academe;the third part mostly analyzes the connection of consumer culture and post-modernism; in the fourth part ,we will contact the theory about 'the aestheticization of everyday life',which leads to the controversy in the Chinese academe,our purpose is to apprehend this question by reading Mike Feathstone' origianl work.Furthermore,we summarizes Mike Feathstone' theory.
