The reading is a part of high school language study which has important and profound meaning in expanding the range of students' knowledge, raising literary attainments and perfecting personalities. In a public cultural age, the traditional reading view encounters unprecedented challenge: the reading object, reading method, reading quality and psychology of high school students are changing in this cultural vibration. On the one hand, the public cultural text enlightens the students deeply with its lively and varied forms, popular and vivid contents and delicate and creative conceive; on the other hand, the entertainment and business character of the public culture also guides the high school students' reading tropism, changes the high school students' outlook on value and result in serious injury for high school students. Facing this kind of variety, language education performance shows its embarrassment: on the one hand, the teacher maintains a doubtful attitude to the public culture and has different views; on the other hand, the students show exceptional enthusiasm to the public culture which can't be said as the educational perplexity of our language. Therefore in order to guide high school students' reading into a positive development, we have to survey the value of the public culture reasonably, analyze gains or losses and make public culture as a kind of resources in the high school students' reading.This text regards cultural heritage research as principle and analyzes the influence of public culture to high school students' reading according to the public cultural theories, educational theories, some latest achievements of high school new course research; also combines the practice of language teaching in the high school, tries to scoop out the cultural value and educational function of public culture as the high school students' reading resources, and then investigates its principle and implement approach during the development process.The body of this text mainly includes three aspects:(a)combining cultural heritage data, comprehend public culture accurately, analyze the influence of the public culture upon the high school students, and deconstruct traditional culture ideology which results in forming diversified new structures. The aesthetic interests and fashion views of public culture stimulate the high school students' cultural requirements, form new reading tropism and change the cultural structure and concept of value. (b) Combining language course theories and relevant public cultural heritage treat the function of the public culture reasonably and try to analyze the positive effects of public culture to the high school reading from the aspect of cultural value and educational function. (c) combining a high school students' reading practice, explore the principle and approach of public culture as development and exploration resources and put forward the probable difficulties in actual development.In conclusion, combining the reading present condition of contemporary high school students, commencing from the cultural attribute of the public culture, analyzing the influence of public culture to the high school students reading, treating the value and function of the public culture as a kind of cultural resources reasonably, and exploring the principle and approach in the development and utilization of public culture as a kind of language reading resources, the aim is that the public culture getting into language education has already become a necessity. Exploiting public culture selectively and making it become beneficial high school students' reading resources will enrich the range of students' knowledge and follow into a positive development.
