The 21st century is the century of economic. In new millennium, facing increasingly intensive international competition based on the technical innovation and the competition for talents, all the countries take the educational reform as the key of raising the quality of people and the strategic measure of strengthening comprehensive national strength. In order to enable our country's new generation to meet the high technical and economical requirements of the new century, we should change the old patterns of cultivating people and the way of studying completely. Many countries have already taken the experimental teaching methods as the goal of basic course reformation. Moreover, they have quite explicit concrete indication of the tested teaching goal. In 2003, our country formulated the book"Geography Curriculum Standard (experiment)"and set the requirements of geography experiments explicitly. This text mainly discusses the geography experimental contents and teaching designs of the high school. We wish it provide more various curriculum resources for the geography of the high school.This text has five parts:The first part: The research background of geography experimental contents and teaching designs of the high school. This part elaborates the background of geography experimental contents,teaching designs of the high school and the realistic meaning of learning geography experimental contents of the high school.The second part: Geography experimental contents of the high school. Based on the analysis to the geography experimental contents of the high school, we make the choices of principles and characteristics of geography experimental contents clearly.The third part: Geography experimental designs of the high school. As the rule of geography experimental design and cases, this part tells us the methods of geography experimental designs and the steps of geography experiments.The forth part: The research for geography experimental designs of the high school. There are two classes: one is the Experimental Class; another is the Contrast Class. We can research the influence of raising the results of geography experimental teaching.The fifth part: Conclusion.The text includes the literature analytic method, the interview method and the experimental method.Literature analytic method: It is a method of referring to the related experimental teaching, the high school geography new curriculum and all kinds of materials related to teaching reformation, so that people can get the essence part of them. The references are "General high school geography course standard (Experiment)"and"Summary of Elementary education Curriculum Reforms Implementation". The research is based on the present geography teaching conducts and experiment as well as the research dissertation in educational journals.Interview method: Interview method is a way of collecting materials and information. The interview objects are geography teachers from Baotou, and the interview content involves the understanding, questions and experiences of these teachers about experimental teaching.Experimental method: Taking two classes with the same characteristic as the Experimental Class and the Contrast Class. The experimental class using experimental teaching method; and the contrast class adopts traditional teaching method. At last, we could analysis the consequence and sum up the influence of geography experimental designs to geography through tests.
