A part of teachers are beginning to realize the importance of reading and trying to improve the primary pupils'reading accomplishment by means of constructing the campus reading culture. Hardly can these schools, however, see clearly the basic meaning of the campus reading culture. So, it brings along blindness as well as unbending to the culture construction, which has impact on its effectiveness.Under the present social and educational background and based on the research fruits in China and abroad, this study tries to find the breakthrough and carries through an instructive exploration on the aspects of theory and practice, which focuses on what the campus reading culture is, and how we construct the campus reading culture, on condition that we consult the related research into Campus Culture, Reading Culture and Scholarly Campus, etc.The main body of this thesis contains four parts.Part one aims at exploring the basic theory of the campus reading culture. It discusses the meanings, the characteristics, and the functions of the campus reading culture and so on, which is based on the theories of culture, campus culture, reading culture. This will supply the gaps formed by the present theoretical study, and will give the directions to implementation of the reading culture of the primary campus. Part two analyses the present situations of the reading culture of the primary campus and summarizes the various problems that arises at present. Part three, which is the core part of the thesis, does research on the constructing ways or methods of the reading culture of the primary campus after discussing the factors of reading substances, reading behaviors, reading systems, reading spirits, in order to construct a kind of feasible mode about the campus reading culture construction. Last but not the least, this thesis gives us a reasonable expectation to the future of the campus reading culture construction.
