With the progress of the society and the improvement of living standards, people don't worry about their basic necessities of life any longer, but pay more attention to the quality of life and their mental health. Therefore, it is the subjective well-being that becomes people's first topic and psychologists'principal research point.Currently, a new adolescent group—marginal urban adolescent group is growing. With the number becoming larger and larger, this group plays an indispensable role in the course of urbanization in the future. So their mental health has become one of the social focuses. We should pay appropriate attention to their inner evaluation of their own living conditions. Under the background of harmonious society, it is significant for society as well as marginal urban adolescent group to cultivate their active attitude, improve their level of subjective well-being and help them develop in an all-around way.This research focuses on the subjective well-being of urban marginal adolescents. Research tools such as Subjective Well-being Scale, Coping Style Scale for Junior High School Students, and Rosenberg's Self-esteem Scale had been used. Two groups of junior high school students were involved in this research. The experiment group consists of 417 students from junior high schools for off-farm workers'children in Guangzhou. The control group consists of 400 students from general junior high schools in Guangzhou.The following conclusions can be drawn from the results of this research.1. The level of subjective well-being in marginal urban adolescent group is remarkably lower than that in general urban adolescent group. The results also show that there are differences between boys and girls, and different grades.2. There is no distinct difference in the level of self-esteem between these two groups.3. Self-esteem has distinct regression effect on subjective well-being and life satisfaction.4. Coping style has regression effect on subjective well-being and its dimensionalities.5. Self-esteem and coping style are relevant closely. Both have great influence on subjective well-being.
