Trust is important to organization because it is the basic mechanism for organization's operation and a factor of organization's existence. Trust is a bond which conglutinate works together in school. The research made clear that, a trust with extensive basement will lubricating school's daily operation. And the vertical trust is a important factor for university development, there are tow types of vertical trust in university organization——trust between leaders and teachers, trust between teachers and students. The study pays attention to trust between leaders and teachers in university organization.The trust between leaders and teachers is a important part of trust in university organization and has significant meaning to university's working. It works to reduce management cost in university, heighten organization efficiency, inspirit teachers effectually, and ensure teachers psychology health. However, it not only lacks quantity in concerned study, but also has a lot of shortages in objects, angle of view and measures. Therefore, the research defines concept and dimensionality of trust between leaders and teachers based on the related research theories in psychology field, sociology field and organizational behavior field in the research, then designed questionnaire to survey recently status of trust between leaders and teachers which offers bases for making suggestions. The study can enrich theoretic content of research on trust in university organization, as well as offer gist for increasing trust between leaders and teachers.By adopting self-designed Trust Questionnaire between Leaders and Teachers, self-designed Relation Questionnaire between Leaders and Teachers and Rotter's Interpersonal Trust Questionnaire, it surveys 250 leaders and 350 teachers in Guilin of Guangxi province and Changsha of Hunan province in the study and eliciting the following conclusions:(1)Self-designed Trust Questionnaire between Leaders and Teachers and self-designed Relation Questionnaire between Leaders and Teachers have good reliability and validity. The factor analysis obtains Questionnaire A and B each of which includes 4 factors, namely, competence, moral quality, relation, authority and Questionnaire C and D each of which includes 3 factors, namely, deepness, initiative, utility.(2)Both leader subjects and teacher subjects are upper in mean of trust between leaders and teachers, and the competence is the most important factor of trust between leaders and teachers. The interpersonal trust and relation between leaders and teachers are also above middle level.(3)The leader subjects exist significantly differences in trust scoring between leaders and teachers according to different university types, years of work as leaders, the title of technical post and diploma. Represented as: leaders of famous university have higher level in trust between leaders and teachers than leaders of normal university, and leaders of normal university have higher level in trust between leaders and teachers than leaders of vocational school; long years work at leader position concomitant with higher trust between leaders and teachers; leaders have higher trust between leaders and teachers when have higher title of technical post and higher diploma.(4) For the leader subject, there is a significantly positive correlation among mean of trust between leaders and teachers, mean of relation between leaders and teachers and mean of interpersonal trust.(5)For the leader subject, moral quality can forecast relation between leaders and teachers at a significant level, authority can forecast relation between leaders and teachers at a very significant level, deepness of relation between leaders and teachers can forecast trust between leaders and teachers at a very significant level.(6)The teacher subjects exist significantly differences in trust scoring between leaders and teachers according to different sexes, university types, years of work as teachers, the title of technical post and diploma. Represented as: teachers of famous university have higher level in trust between leaders and teachers than teachers of normal university and vocational school, and leaders of normal university have higher level in trust between leaders and teachers than leaders of vocational school; long years work as a teacher concomitant with higher trust between leaders and teachers; teachers have higher trust between leaders and teachers when have higher title of technical post and higher diploma.(7) For the teacher subject, there is a significantly positive correlation among mean of trust between leaders and teachers, mean of relation between leaders and teachers and mean of interpersonal trust.(8)For the teacher subject, competence, moral quality and guanxi can forecast relation between leaders and teachers at a very significant level, deepness of relation between leaders and teachers can forecast trust between leaders and teachers at a very significant level, utility of relation can forecast trust between leaders and teachers significantly.(9)The score of university leader subjects and teacher subject have not significant differences.(10)Teacher subjects of university have a higher scoring at interpersonal trust than leader subjects of university.
