The Rise And Development Of The Entrepreneurial University

The entrepreneurial university is the newest form which the university pattern innovates,which develops on the foundation of the teaching university and the research university. The rise of the entrepreneurial university has not certainly substituted for the teaching university and the research university's existence, but has developed these two kind of universities pattern. It adapted the knowledge economy society's arrival and the university own development rule and the request. This paper attempts to seek reforming way to the entrepreneurial university, promulgate the entrepreneurial university's movement mechanism, and explore the enlightenment and the model which reforms to our country university on the basis of the analysis of the reason and the background foundation of the rise of entrepreneurial university,The paper first looked back to the teaching university and the research university. And then, the paper limited the concept of the entrepreneurial university on comparison and implication. On the basis of this, the paper propounded that knowledge economy, massive higher education, reduction of the government's financial support, expectation of industry and change of R&D system are the background of the rise of the entrepreneurial university.On the analysis of the reforming way toward the entrepreneurial university, the third part pointed out that diversifying funding base, strengthening steering core, elaborating developmental periphery, stimulating heartment and integrating entrepreneurial culture are the common reformingway. Because of the difference of national tradition and the realistic environment, the difference between university's school history, present situation, the path of transformation does not have a fixed pattern. Regardless of teaching university or research university, all may succeed in reforming through suitable way.The university technology transfer office is most important organizational innovation. There are three kind of organizations pattern: traditional university organization; non-profit earning scientific research foundation and profit earning organization extension. The technical transfer has three kinds of strategies: initiatives obtain the permission; seeks the suitable company to give the permission; transfers the patent, gain long-termbenefits.Finally, five enlightments are proposed in this paper: innovation is the inevitably choice which the new century university faces; the university autonomy is the eternal topic in the reforming; the accurate localization is the most important link which the university develops; runs out the ivory tower, strengthens the transformation of scientific research achievement to implication and urges internationalization of the college education.
