Whether it is the country construction movement of Liang Shuming or the Chinese revolution that Mao Zedong leaded, they are all the calls of that time. The reason that one adopted the reformative way and another adopted the means of the violence not only related with their family background, personality characteristic and knowledge structure but also closely connected with their understanding of the Chinese state of the nation each other.Liang Shuming was born in the family of official rank, but Mao Zedong in the farmer family. One of them resided in the city and another in the country, so there was the difference of superficialness and profundity on the cognition of the farmer questions. The progressive of Liang's father made him not feel the poison of the feudalism social morals; but the ruthless and cruel of Mao's father made him feel the asphyxiation of the parent system. One was bathed in warm sunlight in the greenhouse, another longing for new life in the burning sun.; One would become pessimism and disappointment while meeting the frustration slightly, but another had the lofty sentiments of "Whether the breeze blows or the wave beats, it is better than quiet court and walk aimlessly." From them, we could see the personality and the family factors that two people walked on the different roads.Liang Shuming thought that China had only the periodic cure and disorder but no revolution, so he claimed to the construction. Mao Zedong believed that the revolutionary high tide of anti-imperialism, anti-warlord, anti-landlord was inevitable and would come very quickly, so he insisted on the revolution. In the operating level: Liang Shuming looked upon the progressive landlords, the country elites and farmers in the upper level as own power to rely on, but Mao Zedong regarded the poor peasants as own faithful allies; Liang Shuming looked upon the intellectual and local country gentlemen as the outer driving force of the country construction movement, but Mao Zedong depended on the CCP and Red Army; Liang Shuming regarded the country construction academes and country schools as the driving institute of carrying out own cause, but Mao Zedong overthrew the old regime and founded the new one.The differences between Liang Shuming and Mao Zedong were those between the intellectual and the revolutionist. The failure and success of both them originated from the dissimilar understanding of Chinese situation of state and peasants in spite of the factors of the operating level. It would be the textual subject to get the beneficial things in the contrast of their gain or loss, success or failure and provide for the new village construction.
