A Study On The State Of Specialized Optional Course Of Volleyball By The P.E Department Student In Colleges And Universities In HuBei Province

Specialized Optional Course of Volleyball is one of the national wide popularly Specialized Optional Course of P.E department in the colleges in 1970s and 1980s (the time that Chinese Women Volleyball Team won five consecutive championships). In recent years, however, it is snubbed gradually as well as in stagnant situation. What's more, it is also in decreasing for students to grasp the specialized skills. Apparently, there must be many aspects which create the depression and even it might develop into a serious result.By the methods of literature review, questionnaire, interview , statistical analysis, logical analysis and systematic analysis etc, the author investigated the state of Specialized Optional Course of volleyball of 6 colleges (HuaZhong Normal University, WuHan Institute of Physical Education, HuBei University, Changjiang University, HuangGang Teacher's College and HuBei Teacher's College)which are offering P.E department in HuBei province. Therefore, the purpose of the investigation is to get a thorough understanding about the situation of the Specialized Optional Course of Volleyball, student's cultivated mode and the tendency of their development, so that the instructional objectives of Specialized Optional Course of Volleyball are more clear; to standard the content of courses; to improve the teaching method; to search after how to cultivate the students' abilities through the course. Comparing with the cultivated objectives of Specialized Optional Course of Volleyball at present and the situation of social need, so that to foster the qualified people who can push forward the development of volleyball through this course. This paper is put emphasis on the research of the guiding ideas, cultivated objectives, content of courses, methods, the usage of teaching materials, examine, evaluation and so on. Aim at the problems as mentioned above, the paper raises some viewpoints and suggestions. Through the research, it will offer a valuable theoretical basis for the reformation of Specialized Optional Course of Volleyball in HuBei Province.
