Body language is an important medium for people to communicate in their daily life by means of facial expressions, eye behavior, gestures, posture, space and distance. Body language has an important and diverse influence on students. It can develop their multiple intelligences; it can create as many opportunities as possible for language practice. Using body language in the classroom, the teachers can increase the information input channels—visual, which activates the intuitive of the right brain. Then the right brain plays a role and participates in visual perceptual thinking. Effective use of body language can encourage students to participate in emotional experience and develop the right brain function.Using body language in primary school classroom meets the physical and psychological characteristics of students. Primary pupils' attention is unstable and impersistent. Body language can attract their attention and "extend" their attention time. Body language provides visual images, which give the students concrete impression and help them to keep what they have learned firmly in mind. Body language is more lively and interesting than spoken English. Learning becomes much easier through body language. And it saves students' time to memorize what they have learned. With the continual reform of language teaching and learning methods, teachers are required to organize the classes in English more effectively and create more English-learning circumstances. However, the pupils' vocabulary and expressive ability are limited. These limitations made it difficult for teachers to use spoken English throughout whole classes. According to the students' present level and practical situation, teachers have to simplify their teaching language with the help of body language, such as facial expressions and body movements and so on.To reach the Primary English Teaching Goal, we need to use body language in primary school classroom. Body language can be used to stimulate students' interest in learning and to keep their curiosity in English learning. Teachers use body language and compare the differences of body language in different countries and regions, which will make students interested in cultural practices .They will be happy to learn about different cultures, customs. And their cross-cultural awareness will be trained imperceptibly.Body language is visual, tangible, flexible and diverse. Students' body language can truly reflect their thoughts, so the teachers can gain accurate feedback information through the body language. In teaching, the visual nature of body language makes English learning vivid. Different countries have different cultures. So the way people in different countries communicate is different too. If the teachers tell their students the differences and help the students to understand a foreign culture, the students' cross-cultural awareness will be formed unconsciously. Body language in teaching has the function of substituting; assisting, monitoring and feedback .Body language skills enable teachers to use different body language as a medium of assistance. Body language skills such as eye behavior, facial expressions, gestures, postures can help teachers to organize the class, to promote the feelings of students, to arouse students' interest in learning and to highlight the focus of teaching and to enliance the teaching profession. However, teachers should avoid using all negative body language. In addition, teachers should understand the body language of students and promptly adjust teaching and learning in the classroom. In short, the use of body language can not only attract the students' attention, but also deepen their impression and imagination. The use of body language is completely up to the standard of audio-visual teaching principle, so teachers should try to teach in English from the beginning to the end, together with the corresponding body language. In the end, the students' ability of English will be certainly and greatly improved. We should vigorously promote the teachers to use body language in primary schools. But, when we use body language in our classroom, we need to pay attention to the principles: appropriateness, naturalness and clarity.
